Amwaj Gateway development Pioneers the Green Buildings Concept in Bahrain Leading property developer invests in ‘green’ solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs
Amwaj Gateway has recently entered a joint venture to assume Green Buildings designs in its development, passing all the benefits to its tenants.
By adopting the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design) criteria for New Construction (LEED – NC 2.2) Amwaj Gateway is stamping its development in the market as being: built as designed and perform as expected, smart and energy efficient equipped with the latest technologies, have lower operating costs and increased asset value and most importantly, healthy and comfortable for their occupants. Amwaj Gateway will register the project to be certified as the leading Green Building development in Bahrain.
Amwaj Gateway will be cooperating with Energy Management Services (EMS), one of the leading energy management and conservation companies in the Middle East, on the road of Green Energy Efficient Architecture.
"We are proud to be associated with EMS who possess a vast and state of the art knowledge on Green Building Concepts" said Mr. Mohammed Al Tawash, Chairman of Amwaj Gateway, during the Agreement signing ceremony with EMS.
"This investment on the behalf of Amwaj Gateway reflects an understanding of the benefits of outsourcing environmental analysis and solutions. In addition to environmental benefits, this initiative will directly contribute to major economic benefits by reducing service charge, operational and maintenance costs," added Mr. Mohammed Al Tawash.
"This investment will enable Amwaj Gateway to be differentiated from other high profile developers by having a reputation based on favorable living conditions and positive environmental initiatives," stated Mr. Khaled Bushnaq, Managing Director of EMS.
In addition to Energy Value Analysis, EMS provides Energy value solutions to develop sustainable, high performance building environments to enhance the comfort of building occupants in an energy efficient and environmentally responsive manner. The company deploys innovative and appropriate technologies for the design, construction and operational stages of a development.
"Amwaj Gateway is
sparing no expense in creating the most desirable environment for our
residents and investors and from the start a consideration of
environmental solutions was high on our list of priorities. Investors
are no longer buying simply aesthetically pleasing properties; the
choice and variety of the regional real estate industry allows for
investors to be more picky when choosing where to live," said Mr.
Rizwan Mumtaz, General Manager of Amwaj Gateway.
"Our
considerable investment in "GREEN" will ensure a premium living
environment for Amwaj Gateway residents and this initiative represents
only one step in ensuring all of our properties are recognized for
being first class developments, the construction of the $183 million
Amwaj Gateway Project on the Amwaj Islands off the Muharraq coast of
Bahrain is going on the green road." Mr. Rizwan Mumtaz added.
Amwaj Gateway is being developed by RealCAPITA, to provide different
types of townhouses and apartments housed in three 20-stories towers.
The project accommodates a total of 550 different residential units.
The development will house the necessary facilities and infrastructure
that comes at the forefront of luxurious living such as serviced
apartments, restaurants, commercial outlets, swimming pools, gymnasium
and a private beach all within a gated community embodying the true
"access to luxury". The location of the development is unique in terms
of its zoning. It´s the only plot in Amwaj Islands to contain such an
integrated mix of facilities with unrestricted sea view and its own
private beach.
The development (estimated to cost US$ 200 millions) is located by the entrance of Amwaj Islands covering a land area approximately 360,000 square feet
